photo diary; the past week

> addicted to baking once again. received pretty positive feedbacks for the chocolate mint cupcakes i’ve baked and i’m pretty excited to continue baking, probably once every week! Next up: Cheese & Bacon Muffins







> had a feasting day where the girls and i went from Maxwell Market (laoban beancurd & chicky rice)) –> KKi for tea & cakes –> PS Cafe for fries –> Buttercake N Cream for seafood aglio olio & warm chocolate pudding. the outcome? an incredible throat.


> unwell for the past week but… turned up for work every single day. no, it’s not like i love my job that much, but i just can’t bring myself to not turn up for work cos while ill, esp if i believe i’m capable of turning up for work & make minimal mistakes. so, it makes me wonder. while i’m really ill & at work, is my colleague who took 2 days mc genuinely ill or taking time off to study for her upcoming exams?







> had the most awesome weekend. also probably cos i haven’t had an entire weekend off in so long! sometimes i really think it’s pretty unfair, but that’s besides the point & work sucks anw. i had dim sum w/ the family at one of our favorite restaurant. we were assigned the same table 4 consecutive times. starting to wonder… maybe it’s meant to be hahaha. & as part of mother’s day, for the family gathering, we prepared a stalk of carnation for all the mothers. & it was very sweet that my mum, received a cake for mother’s day inclusive of special delivery, her favorite chocolate banana cake! hahaha… thanks ll! of course, not forgetting the night ended with lotsa laughter with my dearest cousins & w/o sleep i rested for a bit before dressing up and headed for Gwen’s place for her wedding!





> Sucha pretty bride. we had a simple yet fruitful day. it was my first time as a bridesmaid/jiemei, but i learnt a lot! we made the gatecrashing simple, sweat-free, yet fun, i hope! they got in in no time, and even had to wait around for the bride who wasn’t ready but all was good. it was a long day of no sleep from the night before, but it started and ended well. they managed to source for a bunch of warm photographers, videographer, editor, etc. the wedding singers they hired, & not forgetting, the food served at the wedding lunch was pretty fab! I slept for 11 hours straight & still couldn’t recover from the fatigue. but, it was all good fun. Congratulations & happy marriage! ♥ ♥ ♥

I buy things pretty impulsively!

some of you might not understand why i spent so much on such a luxurious item… why do i even need a keychain that costs more than a hundred dollars… but the happiness i derived from having it, beyond words. so why do i even bother that people judge.

thanks to the girls, i laughed abundance. i really like hanging out with the girls.

p.s. i really miss the sunrise i watched on the plane from korea.

BATAM ’12

It’s been a while since I last went on a trip. Thankful for BFF who planned us a trip for a little getaway to an island just 45 mins away by ferry. She did all the bookings and all I did was… follow. A major hiccup for the entire trip… a massive jam from Tuas to Harborfront. It was majorly congested that day, Poppy was late to meet a client, and I was VERY late to meet my dearest BFF! But thankfully still made in time for the ferry and even had time to drop by DFS to get a bottle of ICE WINE.

Of course, I knew that our trip was gonna be no where close to productive, but I was completely fine with that, and was in the mood to chill and just relax, in our terms… N U A. We refused to join the city tour, and insisted we get off at the hotel. We checked in way before check-in time, and NUA-ed & napped while waiting for J, BFF’s friend. J and mum came to fetch us and off we went to Mega Mall at Batam Centre, first meal… A&W. Was horribly disappointed cos the machine was down and they couldn’t serve us ROOTBEER and we had no stomach-space for Waffles… We went shopping, yes shopping at the hypermart, bought a whole lot of crap :\. Then we drove to the kampung for seafood. SERIOUSLY f r e s h. O M G yummy. We even had the time to drop by J’s place to look-see-look-see, chat and whatnots, before they drove us back to our resort where we had ice wine.

Next morning saw us up earlier than expected, watched 500 days of summer, had breakfast, watched spiderman, went for a massage, watched a good life, before checking out. Went for some yummy pizza, a chat with J and mum before they drove us to the Terminal.

It was all good.

Looks forward to more travels…

Lucky we had such good food, almost forgot it was thanksgiving that night!
- 5 p a n d o r a charms (plus a bag that we’ve yet to decide on) as my christmas gift from mummy as a surprise. it must be quite hard to surprise me, i saw through their surprise w/i seconds just cos i spotted the pandora ribbon and thank you ahyi for the pandora charm she got me for christmas early christmas gift, ♥
- lotsa goodies from k o r e a ♥ 3 tubs of hand cream, a magazine featuring my idol, panda minipol, sandwich stamp and… awesome stuff
- off days = happy days; brunch at Prive with the family / art&craft session with TW / dinner at home with the relatives / twilight with the pals, breakfast w/ the ‘rents / viewing / meet up w/ SNEP03 gang (eat, shop, be merry) / 21st Party

Soap & glory

- o f f days are quite lovely lately. Spending time at my own pace &/or w/ good friends over good laughs.
- had so much to eat at the buffet (we queued at 11.15 though they only open at 11.30! we really wanted to try it so bad) w/ the pals before the parents came to fetch us home! Had a change of phone and headed out to IKEA for some shopping (xmas shopping turned furniture shopping) before we split up by gender for a short short short shopping trip before dinner. funniest time ever at IKEA. C r a p p e s t ideas ever
- shopping for x ‘ m a s gifts began and is progressing pretty well
- my eyecandy told me, “I l o v e y o u…” HAHAHA. ❤❤❤
- ive so many plans for the next month and in the coming year! I hope they all do come true… *excitement*

past wk； 最幸福的事

-definitely one too many unhappiness going on at work, victimized from the overly frequent mood-swings to a devastating heartbreaking farewell news, i didn’t take it too well, but i’ve learnt to take things in my stride, and nothing is FOREVER :\ REALITY OF LIFE… I’ve got lots to learn.
-meeting w/ the girls over steamboat, desserts, buffet, and/or fast food is always good, for a moment we forget the stuff we dont want to remember (from work) and be the normal people we are before we started working and started feeling so jaded.

I’ve been HIT by a whole lot of emotions lately… I don’t know what to feel, happy or sad, I don’t know what to think. I choose to listen to what everyone tells me to, to be h a p p y.

First thing first, things haven’t been looking up at work due to some demoralizing news we received. definietly not ideal, and tears were shed. I knew this day would come, but… no one expected/wanted it to come that soon.
~there might not be another who will shower us w/ random lil’ cute stuff and snacks
~there might not be another “mummy” to remind us to have fun outside work, and to always enjoy what we do, pursue our dreams
~no one to enforce and inculcate in us the importance of being H A P P Y
~we might not be able to find another that will accept our flaws and turn them into our beauty, emphasizing and ensuring we get recognized for all our contributions
~another less party to learn and grow along with us, to assist us even if she’s not too sure herself, uses all her resources…
~might not be able to find another to help me pen my emails when I require help, to make my message sound approachable, polite and clear.

The thought of her leaving makes me upset. So upset. No one to ask us to send gifts on Bakery Story… The thought of the messages she writes on my bakery’s wall, makes me tear at the thought of her leaving. It’s not the end of the world, but it’s definitely our loss and someone else’s gain. Lucky them, I’d say.

Road-tripped to JB lately, and I must say that I was stunned a couple of times, but I had fun, even though the company and the activities we did were a vast difference from our initial plan of singing karaoke & getting our nails done. Life shocks/surprises you with all sorts of different arrangement it has in place for you.
PS. I’M NOT GONNA DENY THAT I’M A HUGE FAN OF FAST CAR AND DANGEROUS DRIVING, I love the thrill.

Apart from the annual D&Ds I used to attend when I was younger, this is the first time I actually attend a D&D for a company I work for…
~had to do super duper extremely last minute shopping for Blazer and Shoes… BOO HOO, J!
~Washed and Styled
I’m not too sure if I actually think D&D for big companies are considered fun, but I actually prefer the pre-party and post-party fun, and, gatherings in smaller groups.

Spent 2 fruitful days with Qian! In a span of 48 hrs we…
- watched 4 different movies of different genre
- sang karaoke; shopped at ToTT
- ate 4 huge filling meals at uber affordable price (from fast food, to chinese, jap, and italian)

Finally, a day to stay home and pack my stuff. Only thing I’ve packed so far, my dresser, my cosmetics, and… my portable table. Hmmmmmmmm seems like it won’t be anytime too soon that I will touch the wardrobe.

finally faced the truth and decided that while everyone seemed to have a common “not to go to her” person, I actually am not afraid of approaching her for lots of help. Yeah, I know she might be telling stuff to my boss about that aspect of my “lack of knowledge”, but seriously, I think I know in the end of the day Ms “not to go to her” is better than Mr “im so jealous if u’re getting more than you should”. I’m starting to get really pissed off. SIGH. *breathe in, breathe out*

PS. dinner tonight was fab, light-hearted conversations, jokes and laughters, awesomely prompt service, generous servings & tasty main courses and desserts, and a short drive home. YAY.

PPS. I’ve a day full of activities going on tomorrow. It ranges from going to karaoke, making a trip to IKEA and the dinner with my clique. I love having meet-ups with my clique… they juz understand what is going on, and, can empathize w/ me.

“how ’bout a round of applause/standing ovation “

countless catching ups, 6 (chocolate) birthday cakes [awfully choc/ raffles hotel/ canele/ rive gauche/ buttercake and cream/ & homemade brownie], bountiful whatsapps, calls, sms and facebook wall texts, thoughtful presents aplenty, shameless request for generous donation towards a [prada wallet] fund i decided to set up juz a week ago, presents to materialize 2 months later [thumbs up, can't wait], abundant [good] food and drinks later, I turn [a] year older. as i age, i appreciate things from a different point of view, things i like no longer the same, and am standing firmer to my beliefs. i voice my opinions more than ever. and i actually appreciate and am more thankful than ever for all the friends i have. them, i like. the cousins and family who we share the same view towards and stay close to, im contented. of coz nv forgetting the lovingly supportive, understanding and occasionally a lil’ over-concerned, parents and brother, i know i cannot be more lucky to have.

now tt the birthday is over, and ive officially turned a year older, im looking forward to a (so far so) exciting year ahead. till then, peace out! *hugs and kisses*

PS. if any of the 23 years deserve a commemorating note, this has to be the one. the very special one.

A trip to Universal Studios Singapore (U S S) saw us very tired by 6 PM. But it was great fun! Let’s say it’s a mixture of good weather, surprising spontaneity, and luck. Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to go on the blue battlestar galactica. But luckily, I might be going back there very soon!
