BATAM ’12

13 Mar

It’s been a while since I last went on a trip. Thankful for BFF who planned us a trip for a little getaway to an island just 45 mins away by ferry. She did all the bookings and all I did was… follow. A major hiccup for the entire trip… a massive jam from Tuas to Harborfront. It was majorly congested that day, Poppy was late to meet a client, and I was VERY late to meet my dearest BFF! But thankfully still made in time for the ferry and even had time to drop by DFS to get a bottle of ICE WINE.

Of course, I knew that our trip was gonna be no where close to productive, but I was completely fine with that, and was in the mood to chill and just relax, in our terms… N U A. We refused to join the city tour, and insisted we get off at the hotel. We checked in way before check-in time, and NUA-ed & napped while waiting for J, BFF’s friend. J and mum came to fetch us and off we went to Mega Mall at Batam Centre, first meal… A&W. Was horribly disappointed cos the machine was down and they couldn’t serve us ROOTBEER and we had no stomach-space for Waffles… :( We went shopping, yes shopping at the hypermart, bought a whole lot of crap :\. Then we drove to the kampung for seafood. SERIOUSLY f r e s h. O M G yummy. We even had the time to drop by J’s place to look-see-look-see, chat and whatnots, before they drove us back to our resort where we had ice wine.

Next morning saw us up earlier than expected, watched 500 days of summer, had breakfast, watched spiderman, went for a massage, watched a good life, before checking out. Went for some yummy pizza, a chat with J and mum before they drove us to the Terminal.

It was all good.

Looks forward to more travels…

I came to realize that while I don’t usually pack light when I go on trips, I am not panicky or anything. I feel comfortable & worry-free for my trips. I enjoy the adaptability and accessibility of the places I’m traveling to. Moreover, the world is our home!

Did some last minute packing and settling of errands, NUA-ED in front of the television (watched so many episodes of Kimora Life in the Fab Lane) before heading to town to run some more errands and then headed to the airport. Came back to finalize packing and oops, my luggage seems a little overweight cos of the stuff I have for my niece. Can’t wait to meet them all.

I’m sleepy, but I’m trying not to sleep too early. The night is still young!

PS. talking over the phone is the best therapy <3

I’ve apparently bought enough facial products in the past couple of days to have an entirely new skincare regime. Fancl Make Up remover > Laneige Facial Wash > Envie De Neuf Exfoliator. I know, every item is from a different brand so it’s kinda weird, and it might not do my skin much greatness. BUT every item is good in it’s own league… so worth giving it a try!

On my o f f day, I had dim-sum with SEIZE (16) people on the same table in Hua Ting Restaurant, footing a bill of $800. Food was ok, not too bad. Exclusivity, was kinda great. A shopping trip consisting of skin care, Tommy Hilfiger jacket & watch, TOYS (transformers), iPhone4 cover from MBMJ, & whatnots, followed. The damage: +/- $1,000. (UN)Necessity to the maximum? L U X E life not meant to happen too freq.

U S S –> Désolé, il pleuvait. But I sat almost all the rides I wanted to go on. C’était amusant.

I’ve an addiction for mad cute desktop accessories, once I start, I can’t stop. I seem to buy e’vry possible nonsense. Even my BOSS rolls her eyes whenever I show her my new buys. :P

Countin’ down to being E U bounded… 1 wk! :) MAD E X C I T E D! Living it up. The best part of it all, I get 3 days of break after my H K trip. My BOSS understands me the B E S T. ‘m gonna start p a c k i n g. Looking forward to being in the a i r p o r t 2 times in 12 hrs. Secret is… J’aime aller à l’aéroport.

1. The trip to Bintan was… too hectic that not much R&R was done! ): But still, it was good albeit boring at some point in time. I enjoyed sitting in a little kelong hut in the middle of the ocean with the currents under your feet, a sky filled with stars hanging above my head, the awesome sea breeze and a drink in hand attempting to do some HTHT. & of course playing with h2o like little kids. And not forgetting our one million and twenty thousand dollars dinner! :)

2. Came home to presents! Including the sleeping mask I’ve been wanting to get & Pingu (it escaped from USS and made it to my room)!

3. Somethings different amidst economy beehoon for lunch! Few of my favorite foods, Claypot rice and koreannn… Not forgetting Starbucks’ biscotti! The little joys in life…

4. Planning our “future” over cakes & burger

5. Pingu spending late night (s) studying hard for exam… efforts paid off, P A S S E D both papers at first attempt! To celebrate us passing our 2nd paper, Z & I had bubble tea from Eskimo followed by Best fries forever. Met the girls for Blooie’s & cakes… & reached home to a large koi grassjelly milk tea. Celebratory mood, much!

Lately, it’s soooooo hot, humid and ☀☀☀. It’s incredible how intolerable it gets. Do drink more water for hydration, y’all! <:

PS. I really do miss training days… I miss the fun we had, the nonsensical stuff we did, the laughter so loud we also get complains from the class next door. Now, I’m really looking forward to the talk we’ll be having on one of the evenings! :D
PPS Is it too soon for me wanting to get some off days?

Woke up to a whatsapp chat asking if I wanna go on a getaway. A short weekend getaway to just almost anywhere nearby. We limited our options to Penang, Malacca and then I suggested Bintan. Yes, so in the end, I’m going to Bintan! It only took us 2 hours to come to a decision and tada… we got the accomodation already. I’m THRILLED~

Wow this week seems like it’s going in the right direction for me! ◕‿-。 Everyday brings a great piece of news.
In fact, 20eleven seems like it’s going great! L♥VE.

Hey… are they referring to me? (read below) Oh, yes that’s us!

The truth may not be too far off. Says Chan Ngee Key, a career management coach and strategist at Springboard Talent, a career management coaching company:

“The fast pace of the Internet has led this group, born between 1980 and 1995, also called the Millennium or Net generation, to be versatile and changing when it comes to their lifestyle and how they communicate. They expect great workplace flexibility and are likely to change employers more frequently than people from Gen X.”

what does the future hold?

16 Jan

I’ve been wanting to do a little recap of 2010, but I just seem to procrastinate so much that I’m not even half way through. ANYWAY, 2011 seems to be rather good so far. Had a great trip with fabulous itinerary, understanding and spontaneous company, and great time. Since then, I haven’t had a day of rest. Everyday is about going out, viewing, spending time with friends, family and almost everyone that matters. Major move coming my way at the start of the year again! What should I say… 2 0 1 1 is indeed so interesting.

The only thing on my mind… Europe, soon? Save, plan, save, save, and erm, save!
